‘Nigerians Will Vote for Me Massively If I Run for President’ — Wike Declares

FCT Minister Cites Popularity, Track Record as Rivers Governor and Abuja Reforms as Key Strengths

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he would secure overwhelming support from Nigerians if he decides to contest the presidency.

Speaking during a media chat on Monday, the former Rivers State governor expressed strong confidence in his political standing, insisting that his record in public office positions him as a formidable contender for the nation’s top job.

“Nigerians still love me, and if I run for the presidential election, they will vote for me massively,” Wike said.

The outspoken minister pointed to his achievements as governor of Rivers State and his ongoing reforms in the FCT as evidence of his leadership capacity and widespread appeal. According to him, performance remains his strongest campaign message.

Wike also dismissed suggestions that his political influence is waning, maintaining that his loyalists retain firm control on the ground. He insisted that even if the recent FCT council elections were to be conducted again, candidates aligned with him would emerge victorious.

His remarks are likely to fuel fresh speculation about his political ambitions ahead of the next general election cycle.
