President says politically aware, digitally savvy youths now demand accountability, jobs, and real results ahead of 2027 elections
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has openly acknowledged the rising political influence of Nigerian youths, admitting they will not hesitate to vote him out if his administration fails to deliver tangible results.
Speaking during recent engagements, Tinubu noted a shift in the mindset of young Nigerians, describing them as increasingly politically conscious, digitally connected, and unwilling to tolerate poor performance or excuses from leaders. According to him, the new generation is demanding greater accountability, improved economic opportunities, and visible progress across key sectors.
The President stressed that his administration is prioritizing youth-focused policies, including empowerment initiatives, innovation, education, and job creation. He described young Nigerians as the driving force and future of the nation, underscoring their critical role in shaping Nigeria’s development trajectory.
Tinubu’s remarks come as political activities gradually build toward the 2027 general elections, with analysts highlighting the country’s large youth population as a decisive electoral bloc. He has consistently encouraged young people to engage actively in governance, entrepreneurship, and technology as part of nation-building efforts.
His comments have since triggered widespread reactions online, sparking debate over the government’s performance and the extent to which Nigerian youths will influence the country’s political direction in the years ahead.
