“Everything Shouldn’t Be About Money” – Opeyemi Aiyeola Urges Colleagues to Rethink APC Support

Veteran actress warns Nollywood peers against letting wealth and influence dictate political allegiance, urging them to consider the country’s future following rising insecurity.

Veteran Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has appealed to her colleagues in the entertainment industry who continue to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), urging them to put conscience above cash amid escalating insecurity in Nigeria.

In a heartfelt video message, Aiyeola reacted to the recent Palm Sunday terrorist attack on Christians in Jos, Plateau State, stressing that political allegiance should not override moral responsibility.

She said:

“We woke up to another news of terrorist attack in Jos. But unfortunately, it is not trending as usual. It is another political season, and I would like Nigerians, both on the ground and on social media, to search through their consciences and do the right thing.

My colleagues, everything shouldn’t be about money, influence, and affluence. Let us allow our conscience to lead us and do the right thing. I’m not throwing shade at anybody, and nobody can dictate your political choices, but you should think of your generation’s future.”

Opeyemi’s plea comes at a time when political loyalty among celebrities has often drawn public scrutiny, highlighting the tension between personal gain and social responsibility.
