Popular skit maker insists his content is about accountability and good governance, not partisan politics.

Nigerian comedian and skit maker Kevin Blak has disclosed that he declined an alleged invitation to join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

The content creator made the revelation in a video shared on his Instagram page, where he read out a direct message he claimed was sent to him, urging him to use his platform to support the president.

Kevin Blak, born Kevin Chinedu Arua and known for his sharp political satire and mimicry, said he was disturbed by the approach, noting that his content clearly reflects his critical stance on governance issues.

“You see the kind of videos that I post, and you have the mind to tell me to join Tinubu’s campaign,” he said. “Some of the messages I get are quite disturbing.”

In the clip, he also read portions of the message, which accused him of using comedy to attack President Tinubu and suggested the president was “bigger than mere comedy sessions.”

Reacting, the skit maker—popularly known as Governor Amuneke—stressed that his creative work goes beyond any single political figure or party. With over 450,000 followers on Instagram, Kevin Blak said his focus remains on accountability, political education, and advocacy for better governance.

“My content is bigger than Tinubu. It is bigger than Nigeria. It is for the entire Africa — for a better Africa,” he said. “Politically, for us to know what we are supposed to do. That’s what gave birth to the kind of content I do.”

He further emphasised that his role as a social commentator is not tied to election cycles or partisan interests, adding that his critiques would continue regardless of who is in power.

“Even after Tinubu, we would still be here to address issues. Even if things get better, you will still see me point out the loopholes,” he said. “It is beyond you. It is beyond the APC.” he added
