Woman claims she travelled from Lagos to support Tinubu campaign but was abandoned without transport fare after alleged incentives failed to materialise.

A woman who claims to be a supporter of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has appealed for assistance after allegedly being stranded in Owerri, Imo State, following a campaign trip in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to information, the woman said she travelled from Lagos to Owerri to participate in campaign activities organised by the City Boy Movement, a pro-Tinubu mobilisation group. However, she alleged that the promises made to supporters before the trip were not fulfilled.

In a video currently circulating on social media, the woman appealed directly to Seyi Tinubu, son of the president, stating that she joined the mobilisation effort with the expectation of receiving the incentives reportedly promised to participants.

She claimed that organisers assured supporters of empowerment items such as a freezer, a generator, and cash compensation for taking part in the campaign activities.

“Nigerians please help me, I need transport fare to go back,” she said in the video. “Seyi Tinubu, I came all the way from Lagos to Owerri to campaign for your father, President Tinubu. They promised us money and empowerment like freezer and generator, but I didn’t receive anything.”

The woman further explained that she is currently stranded in Owerri and lacks the funds needed to return to Lagos.

As of the time this report was filed, the City Boy Movement — a youth mobilisation platform that supported Tinubu during the election — had not issued any official response to the allegation.
