Four suspects arrested as police launch manhunt for syndicate sponsor behind arms shipment to Eastern Nigeria

The Lagos State Police Command has intercepted a truck carrying large quantities of military camouflage and suspected hard drugs along the Lekki-Epe Corridor, arresting four suspects in a major security operation that has uncovered what authorities believe is a sophisticated criminal supply chain.

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai paraded the suspects and exhibits before journalists at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Tuesday, revealing that the interception followed actionable intelligence received by the Command's tactical squad.

"These bags you are seeing here contain military camouflage," CP Fatai said, pointing to the seized items. “We received information and swung into action. The vehicle conveying the sacks was intercepted while moving out of Lagos State, and those carrying them were arrested.”

According to the Commissioner, preliminary investigations indicate that the consignment was being transported to an undisclosed destination in the Eastern part of the country. However, authorities are yet to ascertain the specific location or the individuals expecting the delivery.

"We are still investigating to unravel those behind it," Fatai added.
