Opposition party edges APC 7–2 at Wuse polling unit as voter turnout remains low across Abuja

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has recorded a symbolic breakthrough in the ongoing Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at a polling unit in Abuja.

ADC secured its first-ever polling unit victory at Polling Unit 076, Sani Abacha Estate, Wuse Zone 4, within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). The unit is notable as the voting point where the ADC’s AMAC chairmanship candidate, Dr. Moses Paul, cast his ballot.

Results from the unit showed ADC leading convincingly with seven votes, while APC managed two votes. One ballot was declared invalid, bringing the total votes cast to just ten.

The outcome reflects the generally low voter turnout recorded across several parts of the FCT, even as opposition parties seek to make inroads against the dominant APC in the nation’s capital.
