Military spokesperson’s threat heightens global security concerns as standoff with the U.S. and Israel deepens.
Iran has issued a sweeping and unsettling warning that tourist destinations across the globe could become potential targets, escalating fears about international security as tensions with the United States and Israel intensify.
The threat was delivered on Iranian state television by military spokesperson Abolfazl Shekarchi, who suggested that locations long considered safe—ranging from public parks to major tourist attractions—may now be vulnerable.
“Based on the information we have about you, even parks, recreational areas, and tourist destinations anywhere in the world will no longer be safe for you,” Shekarchi said during the broadcast.
The statement comes amid ongoing geopolitical strain involving Iran, the U.S., and Israel, with diplomatic solutions appearing increasingly distant.
Despite the alarming tone, Iranian officials did not name specific locations or provide details on any imminent plans. Security analysts say it remains unclear whether Iran has the operational reach to execute attacks on a global scale, with some interpreting the warning as a strategic show of force or psychological pressure.
Still, concerns persist. Iran is believed to maintain networks and influence beyond its borders, and reports of minor incidents linked to Iranian interests in recent weeks have added to growing unease.
Global security agencies are now expected to heighten surveillance and reassess risk levels, particularly in high-traffic public spaces, as authorities weigh the potential impact on international travel and public safety.
