Morocco’s Brahim Díaz remains the leading scorer as Victor Osimhen and Mohamed Salah stay within reach ahead of the third-place playoff and final.

As the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations heads into its decisive final phase, the race for the Golden Boot has emerged as one of the tournament’s biggest talking points.

With the third-place playoff between Nigeria and Egypt scheduled for Saturday and the final between hosts Morocco and Senegal set for Sunday, several players still have a chance to boost their goal tallies.

Morocco’s Brahim Díaz continues to lead the scorers’ chart despite failing to find the net in his side’s semi-final victory over Nigeria. The Real Madrid winger remains on five goals and will have one final opportunity to extend his lead when the Atlas Lions face Senegal in the final.

Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen remains firmly in contention for the Golden Boot. The Super Eagles striker has scored four goals, playing a crucial role in Nigeria’s journey to the last four and staying just one goal behind Díaz.

Egypt captain Mohamed Salah is also among the top challengers. The Liverpool forward has three goals, highlighting his consistency and importance to the Pharaohs as they prepare for the third-place playoff.

Several other players remain within striking distance, ensuring the Golden Boot race could go down to the final whistle of the tournament.
